I'm currently making them at 8" cord length which gives you about 3"- 4" diameter opening for your fishing rod, or whatever else is a mess that needs to be bunched together.
They make nice inexpensive gifts if you'd like to order in bulk, or need them popped in a padded envelope last minute with a note.
